Britian's Got (Lesbian) Talent
04.22.09 (2:33 am)   [edit]

My comments as "HoboHomo" (and replies) from article about overnight sensation Susan Boyle on Alternet.org, a progressive message board.

Of course it doesn't occur to all you dufus heteros...
Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 21, 2009 2:19 AM

that Ms. Boyle is lesbian. A credit to our gay community.

Posted by: cordas on Apr 21, 2009 2:43 AM

Is she? Says who? She hasn't said anything of the sort...

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 21, 2009 10:22 PM

Why would she, dimwit? Coming out on the world stage as gay could wind up getting her killed...thanks to ignorant heteros like yourself, who are soooo bothered by anyone homosexual making it in this world.

"She hasn't said anything of the sort": what an ignorant remark. Then again, it's quite expected from clueless breeders, that kind of cruel reply.

I don't get that at all...
Posted by: nha16 on Apr 21, 2009 9:08 PM

...and I can usually spot a fellow lesbian miles away. I wouldn't mind giving her that first kiss though. She really wowed me with that performance and her sense of humor...and of course, the cute accent.

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 21, 2009 10:38 PM

I only wanted to point out that in a heterosexist world, people have a blind spot...even when they see she's rather masculine in appearance, and has "never been kissed." Notice the explosive responses thus far, excluding your own thoughtful and unbiased (and kind) reply, of course. Best to ya!

Point of fact, while most people assume another is heterosexual unless otherwise told...the majority of people are born bisexual, but it gets severely repressed as they grow older, by a homophobic society. But in all honesty, one must assume another is bisexual unless otherwise told. So it is not only disingenuous for anyone to assume Ms. Boyle is hetero, it is ignorant. And worse: absolutely brutal to lash out at me for suggesting she may be lesbian.

Signs point to it! Of course, being somewhat at a disadvantage due to a disability, she may be too shy to bring this up, or even ashamed, considering the stigma society curses gays with...and considering coming out may very well ruin her just-found career, and even her life.

Such is the brutality of hetero troglodytes, some of whom even lurk on this forum...and attack me! Such vulgar types are the main cause for the world's miseries.

STOP PROJECTING!
Posted by: cordas on Apr 21, 2009 2:49 AM

WTF? Leave Ms. Boyle alone to be the person SHE WANTS TO BE!

The author of this article is even worse than the PR people she lambastes for maybe wanting to pluck, style and mold Ms Boyle. That and the idiot above who is making spurious claims about her sexuality.

Ms Boyle isn't the poster girl for forgotten women, she isn't the hidden lesbian gem, she doesn't need to be polished.

I know this might sound patronising but she should be given the space and support to be who she wants to be. If she wants a make over, to go back to her cottage and cats, run for 1st world leader, whatever it should be left up to her, not some bunch of self justifying idiots looking to push their desires onto her... unless of course thats what she wants but some how I doubt it.

{{ WTF? Leave Ms. Boyle alone to be the person SHE WANTS TO BE! }}

IOW: how dare I suggest she's gay. And how dare SHE if she should say this to the world. I'm sure anyone who's gay that gets famous, would love to be who they really are, instead of staying in the closet for fear of losing one's career, and even one's life.

You're an intolerant baboon. Typical callous breeder response. You don't really WANT her to be whatever she'd like to be...you want her to SHUT UP about being gay.

The only reason I posted this topic, is to show other Alternet participants that homophobia still runs rampant even among liberal venues. Pathetic, but true...and important to expose.

Posted by: special_k on Apr 21, 2009 10:47 PM

If anyone is championing bigotry, it would not appear to be the poster you are attacking.

Straight, gay, blue, yellow, transgendered. None of that matters in the end. Susan Boyle is fantastic. Period.

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 22, 2009 12:23 AM

What DOES matter is that the possibility of her being lesbian is ignored/excluded/ridicule d and angrily opposed. So while you are quite correct on the surface, underneath dwells hetero sharks ready to devour any gay presence that dares enter the waters of hetero supremacy. Everyone brought up the wonderful implications on various aspects of Ms. Boyle's sudden acclaim...all but one, which is of course the homosexual possibility. Except for me.

Because it's important, and I refuse to be silenced.

SO MANY GREEN EYED MONSTERS
Posted by: VZEQICVA on Apr 21, 2009 7:22 AM

So the judges went from "you gotta be kidding" to "holy sh--" in less than a minute. It doesn't happen often but it's instant fame. I do wonder why that offends so many people. Is everyone out there drop dead georgeous? I doubt it. Can anyone sing that well, definitely not. Give the lady the credit she deserves. It's right out of a story book. Gotta love it! ANNA

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 21, 2009 10:41 PM

{{ It's right out of a story book. }}

Except for the Prince Charming part. She's lesbian. And THAT part of the story is being suppressed...to the injury of all good gay people everywhere.

RE: "It a set-up! Probably."
Posted by: Ruby on Apr 21, 2009 4:20 AM

Actually, her "Oh, Simon" was in response to his comment that he knew when she walked out there that they were going to hear something special--or something to that effect.

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 21, 2009 10:51 PM

It was actually a very gay camp wordplay: gay Simon playing hetero suitor to lesbian Susan's coy hetero maiden blush.

Gay gay gay all the way, and you silly heteros missed it...just flew like a bat over your widdle heads! Right there before the entire world's eyes...you breeders are so clueless.

Hobo, I stopped and actually looked closely at SB on one of those entertainment programs yesterday. I do not think she's a lesbian--I think "she" is actually a man. Take a closer look next time--t.

Posted by: HoboHomo on Apr 29, 2009 1:04

Could be, no argument here, Vik. In one photo, she looks just like a man wearing a woman's cheap wig: Oliver Hardy in drag! Well, at any rate, I truly wish her or him the very best.

And to add relish to my dish, this letter to gay talk show host Karel:
