          YOU TOO
(A True Tale From The Castro. Eat your heart out, Armistead!)

          © 1997 by Ezekiel J. Krahlin

          held me in your arms
          showered me with kisses
          like nibbling tetra fishes

kept on reaching out to me
          with every new tomorrow
time passing into days and weeks
          regardless of your sorrow

          said that you were leaving
the moment i opened my heart
          and set my soul agrieving
          and tore my world apart

          moved across the street
          to wait a while longer
allowing me to catch my breath
and let my love grow stronger
